X'mas in Macau and Hong Kong - Day 4 & 5

Part 2 - Hong Kong (Day 4 & 5) END

1. Tim Ho Wan (添好運)

You can't leave Hong Kong without trying their local dimsum and it's so true! We went to Tim Ho Wan and it's authentic enough for us.

Familiar background with the typical red taxi, as seen in many of Hong Kong's drama

Reached there about 9.15am and there is already a very long queue. We were seated after 30 minutes waiting and 5 minutes for our food to be served. Wow! That was fast!

The "四大天王" Hong Kong version is similar to ours. Just that they got more varieties on their menu if compared to the one I had in Singapore and ofcause it tastes so much better.

2. City sightseeing @ Central / Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Without certain plan in mind, we just anyhow walk, board and alight like a Hong Kongers. A day to explore and experience Hong Kong in a different way with tram, bus and mini bus. We enjoyed getting lost in the city, hand in hand and finding our way to the next destination. A day as a traveler and not a tourist.

The highlight of the place we explore:
• Abercrombie & Fitch, Pedder Building, Central
• World Wide Plaza, Central (Similar to Singapore’s Lucky Plaza.. haha)
• Toy Street / Tai Yuen Steet Market, Wan Chai
• Jardine’s Bazaar, Causeway Bay
• Times Square, Causeway Bay
• Lee Gardens, Causeway Bay
• Honey Crème, Causeway Bay

3. Sai Kung for Seafood

Actually today's plan is to visit Ocean Park but the boyfie randomly requested for some seafood during the trip. (See!!! You are more important than Ocean Park. Hehe…)
There are 3 popular areas for seafood in Hong Kong – Sai Kung, Lamma Island and Lei Yue Man. We decided to go to Sai Kung partly is to see the seafood floating market as well.

Once we reached Sai Kung area, it was so relaxing and a little slow paced compared to the bustling city. Seafoods or dry products was sold on the little boats along the harbour. People were leaning on the railings, shout to negotiate and lastly goods and money being exchanged. I just love seeing the whole process.

There are a few seafood restaurants in the areas and we tried Chuen Kee Seafood because of its positive reviews. Most of the restaurants displayed live seafoods in front that allows customer to choose direct from the tanks. We afraid that the bill might turn out to be extremely costly if we opt for fresh seafood from the tanks, so we didn’t and instead we got a two person set meal for HKD438. We were given 4 choices out of the list of dishes and we chose to upgrade the fish from Pomfret to Grouper with an additional HKD68.

The two person set meal consists of 4 main dishes + free gege + free dessert.

Steam Prawns / Cheese Lobster Yee Mee

Deep Fried Abalone / Steamed Grouper

Vege / Red bean soup

Overall, the meal was pretty satisfying but not a wow from me.
